Conor McKee Productions is a North West based Theatre company with a strong history of developing writers and actors. They have developed, produced and toured two full length plays by Conor, Burnt and Thrasher – with performances across the country including sell out runs at The Royal Exchange Theatre, Contact and Camden People’s Theatre.
Places are free on the company’s first CPD weekend for actors. A very limited number of places are available, so early application is encouraged.
This CPD weekend is an opportunity for actors to develop their working practice and to gain new skills. The first day will concentrate on Theatre Staples – such as Voice Work, Movement and Acting Techniques. These will be delivered by established professionals working in their areas of expertise.
Day two will train participants in the unique actor involved script development method used by Wyllie and Conor to develop their plays. Workshops will focus on a variety of forms of text, from poetry to extracts from plays by Conor McKee.
The CPD weekend will take place at the offices of The 24:7 Theatre Festival – Astley & Byrom House, 21-23 Quay Street, Manchester M3 3JD. The dates and times are Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 10am – 6pm. Participants should bring loose clothing suitable for movement.
