Manchester International Roots Orchestra event e-flyer

Community Arts North West and RNCM present an evening of music with an international flavour.

The orchestra, led by Music Director Michael Cretu and Assistant Music Director Serge Tebu, have been meeting since January 2013 and have created an exciting new music repertoire in celebration of Refugee Week.

Manchester International Roots Orchestra is a unique new ensemble of musicians with roots from across the world and students from the RNCM. Their repertoire skilfully weaves together diverse musical influences from the haunting melodies of Eastern Europe, to the delicate textures of the Middle East, to soulful African gospel embracing rap, classical and jazz along the way.

Led by Emmanuela Yogolelo, Testimony performs joyful music with a message of hope inspired by African Gospel, Afro Jazz, Congolese dance music & American R&B.
