The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales has announced that as part of its Community Programme it has over £100,000 available to award to charities working in Tameside that support disadvantaged people.
In addition to the available funding, the Foundation recently awarded Tameside Sight a grant of £19,700 over two years. The grant will go towards the salary and on costs of a part time administration worker for the Community Support Project. The charity offers support to visually impaired people in Tameside and provides a range of services including advocacy, befriending, social activities and a small grant scheme for the purchase of specialist equipment. Information on particular eye conditions, educational classes, access to employment and adaptations for independent living is provided. Advice is also offered to carers, family members, friends and health care professionals.
The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales supports charities that help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community. Charities wishing to find out if they are eligible for funding should visit the Foundation’s website or download the guidelines provided.
