New Clore Fellowships announced

/ /

The Clore Leadership Programme is now accepting applications for 2013/14 Fellowships.

The Arts Council is supporting up to eight Fellowships in 2013/14 through the Developing resilient Leadership programme for external candidates. We are specifically funding fellowships for artists, museum, library and arts organisation leaders.

Building a diverse and resilient cultural sector

The Fellowships support the personal and professional development of leaders with the aim of building a diverse and resilient cultural sector.

Fellows take a total of approximately eight months away from work to focus on the programme. A bursary or compensation to their employer of £15,000 is available to all Fellows.

Supporting personal and professional development

The Fellowship Programme supports the personal and professional development of leaders through in-depth learning, tailored to the needs, aspirations and circumstances of around 25 individuals a year, with the aim of building an innovative and resilient cultural sector. Fellows benefit from unparalleled access to senior cultural leaders, a diverse peer group and extensive networks.

Talking of their time on a past fellowship one participant said: ‘The Fellowship helped me to realise and stretch my intellectual capacity, to go out of my comfort zone knowing that I have found a way to manage and thrive in challenging circumstances. I feel excited and inspired by the future.’

Developing Resilient Leadership

The Fellowships supported by Arts Council England in 2013/14 as part of a national programme for developing resilient leadership are:

  • • General Fellowships – open to candidates from a wide range of cultural activity
  • • Artist Fellowship – open to artists from any creative or cultural area, who wish to develop as leaders
  • • Libraries Fellowship – open to individuals with the potential to take on a significant leadership role within Libraries
  • • Two Museums Fellowships – open to individuals with the potential to take on a significant leadership role within Museums

Details of the opportunity and how to apply are available on the Clore Leadership website. The deadline for applications is 5.30pm on 22 February 2013.
