As part of Black History Month and as a celebration of the life of Maya Angelou (4 April 1928 – 28 May 2014), we are holding two poetry workshops led by Commonword/Young Identity. Each workshop will last for one and a half hours, from 1-2:30 and from 3:00-4:30, and will use the work of Maya Angelou as inspiration for the creation of your own poetry. Workshop participants will be encouraged to share their work at the open mic session in the performance space later in the day.
The workshops will be held in the beautiful surroundings of the Chief Librarian’s Office, on the 3rd floor.
There are limited numbers for the workshops, so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you have a preference for the first or second session please indicate this when booking your place.
Workshop participants may be asked to do some preparation in advance of the workshops – we’ll email you to let you know about this.
