He has worked to develop writers and scripts for seven years, running the regular group Scriptworks in partnership with Contact and an occasional one-off writer/ director development project Script4Stage – which piloted in association with The Lowry, The Dukes and They Eat Culture/ Preston Continental.
Conor’s own plays Thrasher and Burnt both sold out their initial runs in advance – at The Royal Exchange Theatre and Camden People’s Theatre (Thrasher) and at Contact, Manchester (Thrasher). Both have subsequently undergone national tours.
Recently, Conor has produced the work of other artists, working in conjunction with Stage Combat Expert Kenan Ali to tour Macbeth in 2012 and later this year.
Through himself or his company, Conor can provide access to training across most theatre disciplines and regularly runs development initiatives in conjunction with his Arts Council funded projects and tours.
The most recent initiative is a Continuing Professional Development weekend for actors and artists looking to develop their acting skills. This covers Voice, Movement, Acting Techniques and Singing, as well as a day spent on Text Delivery – working with material from poetry to extracts of Conor’s plays.
