Founded in 2012, The Television Workshop Salford is a unique television, theatre and film-linked training initiative in association with the award winning The Television Workshop, offering weekly classes to young local talent from 6 -21 years in the Northwest.
- We Aim to develop and train young talent for stage and screen.
- We Offer Producers and Casting Directors young talent for professional work and a resource for script development and research.
- We Are Inspired By and are working in association with the award winning The Television Workshop, which started in 1983 and whose alumni include Samantha Morton, Chris Gascoyne and a host of other successful talents.
- Our Ethos is to support talent regardless of the ability to pay.
We are supported by the BBC, ITV, Lime Pictures, Royal Exchange Theatre, Salford Council, Salford College and Salford University.
As part of our end of year showcase we are creating a Short Film Festival to be screened at MediaCity July 2014 for industry professionals. We are looking for an individual or team with experience of film making to help us create a 20 min short film with our over 16’s group and a Soap Opera episode with our 11 – 16s. A small team of professional performers will star alongside the young people. This is a paid commission, fee to be discussed. All applicants should have use of necesary filming equipment and the equipment to handle all post production. The scripts for both pieces already exist.
